Tirkey not among probables (Hockey)

Former India captain Dilip Tirkey has been the surprise omission from the list of India's 48 probables announced on Wednesday.
The list of 48 has been drawn up keeping in mind India's international hockey calendar spread over the next four years.The
30-year-old, whose future has been a subject of speculation, was last
seen in action during India's doomed Olympic qualifying campaign in
Chile.The veteran defender picked up an ankle injury thereafter
and recently returned to domestic hockey with the Muruguppa Cup in
Chennai.In between, there were reports of Tirkey contemplating retirement but the two-time Olympian has so far denied such rumours.
