Pandev: We are not lucky
Lazio striker Goran Pandev insists that the capital
club are top of Serie A by merit and not simply due to luck as critics
have claimed.
The Eternal City outfit have enjoyed a scintillating
start to the new campaign, winning Cagliari and Sampdoria to claim pole
position in the Scudetto race.
However, Lazio's position have
been not prevented critics from deploring their title chances who
insist that the Biancocelesti are mainly profiting from the poor
displays from the top dogs such as Inter Milan, Juventus and Roma.
Macedonian
forward Pandev though, begs to differ and is determined to further
reinforce that notion when they face a beleaguered AC Milan this
weekend.
"We aren't top by chance. We are a young side but a very strong one," the 24-year-old told the press.
"I said a month ago that we aren't scared of anyone and now we are travelling to Milan ready to have a great game.
"Last year we put in a fantastic performance at San Siro but this year we must win.
"Nonetheless
we are keeping our feet on the ground and we have some tough games
coming up like Milan and the test against Fiorentina next Wednesday."
"They are having big problems but they are a side full of champions," the Macedonian added.
"I
think at the moment Milan are just suffering from tiredness and we need
to try and take advantage of that because we have a fast side."
