Ipod software update
Stupid ipod server..confused..?
Ipod is based on software, and it needs to be upgraded once in a while using itunes.
The updating is done directly from net, online.
So i decided to update mine, and waited for 3 hours, doing nothing!
When there was just a minute left, it disconnected
Does anyone know how i can update my ipod software being offline??

Follow these instruction. Hope you will be good to go but sorry i dont think there is any way to get updated being offline.
How to update iPod for Windows using Windows Vista, Windows XP or Windows 2000
1. Download and install the latest version of iTunes When you have the latest version, use the iTunes menus to check for updates. On Windows choose Help > Check for Updates.
2. Connect your iPod to your computer using the USB or FireWire cable that came with your iPod and open iTunes if it is not already open.
3. In order to be updated on a PC, your iPod must be formatted for a PC. If it is not, you will receive a message stating that your iPod needs to be reformatted. If you receive this message, read following article (how to restore iPod) before proceeding. If you are unsure of your iPod's format, read following article.( checking ur iPod disk format )
4. If iTunes detects that a newer version of iPod software is available for your model, you will be prompted to download and install the new version. If the newest software has already been downloaded you may be prompted to install it.
5. Depending on the model iPod you have and whether you are using a USB or FireWire connection to connect your iPod, you may be asked to leave your iPod attached to the computer for the update to complete or you may be asked to connect the iPod to the iPod Power Adapter that came with your iPod (Note: not all iPod models ship with a power adapter). Be sure to follow the onscreen instructions to complete the update.
6. During the update process, you will notice an Apple logo and progress bar appear on the iPod display (Note: this may be difficult to see since the iPod's backlight will be turned off). Once this is completed, you can resume normal use of your iPod. If you notice a different icon on the iPod screen read this article and the follow the related instructions.
How to restore iPod
1. Ensure that you have an active Internet connection as new versions of iTunes and iPod Software may need to be downloaded to your computer.
2. Download and install the latest version of iTunes if you do not already have it installed.
3. Open iTunes, and then connect your iPod to your computer using the USB or FireWire cable that came with your iPod.
4. After a few moments, your iPod will appear in the Source panel in iTunes.
5. Select your iPod in the Source panel and you will see information about your iPod appear in the Summary tab of the main iTunes windows.
6. Click the Restore button. You will be prompted with one or more restore options that may prompt iTunes to automatically download the latest iPod Software. The 4 possible restore options are:

* Restore Option 1: Restore - Restores with same iPod Software version already on iPod.
* Restore Option 2: Use Same Version - Restores with same iPod Software version already on iPod even though a newer version is available.
* Restore Option 3: Use Newest Version - Restores with the latest iPod Software available.
* Restore Option 4: Restore and Update - Restores with the latest iPod Software available.
8. If you are using a Mac, a message will appear prompting you to enter an administrator’s name and password.
9. A progress bar will appear on the computer screen indicating that the first stage of the restore process has started. When this stage is completed, iTunes will present one of two messages on screen with instructions specific to the iPod model you are restoring.
