Fast XP Trick...

Post by vinay on Sat Dec 15, 2007 12:24 pm

Does Your comp take a hell lot of time to start??Well, if the Answer is Yes then this is gonna really help you. Here I Will Tell You How To Speed Up Your Boot Process of Windows Xp.

1.Open Notepad and then copy/paste the following code in it :

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management\PrefetchParameters]
"EnablePrefetcher"=dword:00000005

2.Then save the notepad file with any name but make sure to rename its extension from .EXE To .REG , Finally double click on the file and then click Yes .

If you are getting bored to do this , Just downlaod the made-file form Here .After Downloading the file extract the content(the .reg) file .Finally Double click on on the file n then say Yes .Thats it, Restart i am sure you will notice the effect.

Don't Keep the DWORD value more than '5' .. It will heat up ur processor... And it may harmful...

Yes it will burn ur processor more... but this trick is very helpful for those who use slower systems like Pentiun-3...etc.

@cry_coz_ ... no need 2 try this trick in vista.. cuz u hav minimum 512MB RAM ...

BRO, Do u know what a DWORD is.... I m telling u ... DWORD is just a value... And we change this for many different purposes...

I have a few examples here :

1. To Remove Taskbar from Settings on Start Menu

2. To Remove the Find Command

3. To Hide Drives in My Computers

4. To Hide the Network Neighborhood

5. To Disable Shutdown

I have a Question now ... do all the changes put pressure on the processor???

Bro... DWORD is not only used for " speed up " and changin DWORD is not harmful everytime...

now what made u change ur mind n reply again to my question which u had already replied with the above statement. anyway i will give u an answer.
vinay i do know about Dword.if u look above u will see i myself agreed first on using this technique but before messing with with the dword i preferred searching up in google for this thing n this is what google said about changing the value(already wrote it above).. n i read what dword is buddy. dont want to paste that whole page out here cuz everyone can read it using the search button...
