NOT SATISIED WITH SELECTING PROCEDURE OF AN ADMIN.

this recommendation method has really turned into something ugly.. i think mig33 has recieved alota feed back that this methd of thiers is making alota users unhappy.. it's unfair on the admins part as well if they are recommending just their friends.. i think they should recommend most deserving users if that's the case..

hunk at the end of the day it's the mig team that makes their choices about how they run the show...

i hope they take your plea into consideration , along with the many others

thats is true... this is the standard method of admin selections..
all admins do that.
and these days, when the selection is going on, many admins are secretly working very hard to get their friends selected as admins...
and migteam would only listen to their existing admins. they dont have time to waste in log-checking etc.. mig admins are resposible users so their word always carry weight. but, u know, superior authority must be acknowledged publically

they are tryng to keep it a secret but we know everything... lets see who succeeds..

well according to my point of view, All i can say, some deserving users have to have a chance who have been looking forward since long to be interviewed so that they can prove their selves who cant manage admins' recommendation. they might have better history n experience and could do better in interview if they have the chance. But to reach interview gets so tough these days.

well, Im neither opposing the current system of collecting admins' recommendation. Reference and Recommendation always do help.for instance, In our real life we might have seen around, some big and established company, while hiring, publish the advertise in some job seeker websites or in their own site. Every one can hit that apply button and go through the application procedure and can easily end up with a successful application. There those company always like to keep an option, where they ask for referee. in this regard current staffs' reference really help. then on basis on the overall assessment they call some deserving applicant. And the interview procedure is totally upto them. we dont have nothing to complaint about that cuz they care more than us to recruit eligible staffs. infact its all their company.

I just showed that example to propose mig33 team how about to implement that idea if they add up the mig33 admin position application option to their website like they already have career option.

although this is a volunteer job but users seem to be very interested and dedicated to this post. all they need is to have a chance.

Why not?!?

There are thousands of users who are sending mail everyday for the admin post.
How many are actually checked by the staffs? How many are actually even read?

Sadly, I think that not a single one are read, if the sender is a average user with no back up.

Then how are they being applicants? MIg33 used to say about random process..
that was in past, and now..

It's fairy tale. Selecting people for adminship from thousands of mail is no more than a random process I daresay.

So what do the staffs do? They listen to the admins, and from a selection of few people, even fewer people are interviewed.

And is there any better way to remove this cycle? I can't find any to be honest.
past Random process is very dangerous, and today's process by recommendation is..based on favoritism..

How about some of you invent a new method of selecting better users for admin?

its totally depend on the existing admins. we can just give them advice not to recommend only their friends.. though its useless.

well we have discussed recommendation allota tymz..
i dont think mig33 team have any alternative.since they dont want to appoint people blindly....if this was system wasnt there then allot of irresponsilbe people were appointed...

i think this system is the best....
it myt be unfair for single users ...but its an advantage to the whole mig33 soceity in general

you are right. And that is what these forums are for. We discuss things and then we're supposed to arrive at something that we may call a synthesis.And that can certainly help migteam to take future decisions..
So everyone should be expressing themselves freely and openly.Only they should be reasonable

Aktel is right indeed. The forum is here for discussion. Mig33 team does visit forums atleast 2 times in a week. There is nothing better than constructive criticizim.

well i think mig33 must be receiving thousandz,lakhz and millionz of mailz from the userz from different countries.mig33 cant take all into the consideration.so mig33 has appointed adminz from different countries and those adminz helping mig33 in finding new adminz.i think mig33 selecting procedure is 50 % nice and 50 % not good.btw as we all know it requires luck to become an admin in mig33.letz see who gonna be the new adminz coming soon these december.so best of luck friendz...

In a way its a good method but everything got advantages and
disadvantages... Even the old way got disadvantages and a higher risk
of getting the wrong person.. Mig33 admins know almost all users so their
recommendations to mig should be effective and getting the right
person... There are so many people joining the mig33 community and
everyone wants to get selected so many apply... I think local admins
who are appointed for their country know very well who is suitable for
the post and may be thats why mig staff have got admins selected for their countries to make work even easier... Its not that they donot read mails they must be reading them and even get recommendations and match the users... However even after admins recommending their list of users
mig staff donot just interview and take their word for it and let you
pass now they check your logs and conversations hence making sure the
right person is selected and that there is no corruption.. I'm not against anyone just donot criticise anyone and their work.. Lets jus hope for the best and enjoy the services offered by mig33 and hope for the best
